Aspla supports the Irish plastics collection scheme.

Aspla joined the waste plastics collection scheme administered by the Irish Farm Films Producers Group Ltd. (IFFPG), which represents the farm plastics industry and farmers, through the Irish Farmers Association (IFA).Over 70,000 tonnes of waste silage sheeting and bale wrap have been collected since the start of the Waste Farm Plastics Collection Scheme in 1997. This important Scheme, which protects the european environment, is primarily funded through a levy that is charged on all silage plastic that members place on the market. The levy, in addition to a small collection fee, ensures that IFFPG can guarantee a collection service to farmers nationwide, either at the farm or at a bring-centre.

The new regulations have required Farmers and Agricultural Contractors to consider how they will comply in the most cost-effective manner - collection schemes such as that offered by the IFFPG is helping them do this by advising on waste preparation and storage.
Aspla is the largest producer of polythene film products in Spain and a leading producer of agricultural plastic films which it sells worldwide.
